August, 2014 Rich Technology won the bidding of Chengdu subway line 3&4 project.
The first phase of Chengdu subway Line 3 runs through the CBD core area of the city from its north east to its south west, starting from TaipingYuan, traveling through the CBD core area to its north east, and ending at the military hospital with a length of 20.35km and 17 stations. The second phase of Line 3 has 11 stations, starting from SHUANGLIU station, traveling from the south west to the north east of the city, ending at Xiedu station. The third phase starts from the terminal of phase one, ending at Hongxingcun station with a length of 12.6km, in which on-the –ground part is 5.7km, while underground part is 6.9km. According to the construction plan, there will be 9 stations with 3 on the ground and 6 underground with one main substation.
Chengdu subway Line 4 starts from Wansheng in Wenjiang district and ends at Xihe Town in Longquanyi district. The whole length of phase one totals 22.4 km with 16 stations and a construction period of 5 years. Phase two reaches a length of 21.317 km with two parts, covering 14 stations.
With its efficient service and safe operation, Chengdu subway help alleviate the transport pressure of the city. As a key issue of transportation improvement, to make it work in a safe, efficient and profitable manner remains as a vital point.
