March 2013 RichTech won the bidding of passenger distribution project of T3-- the first terminal of this kind in China.
With the development of online-booking, web check-in and CUSS, requirements to the facility, security and passenger distribution of the terminal has been increasing dramatically.
Recently RichTech provides intelligent passenger distribution solutions to Beijing International Airport, installing 12 PreSec product in Terminal 3, which helps upgrade the distribution system and improve the efficiency of traffic. It is also the first application case in passenger distribution system in China’s airport.
Beijing Capital International Airport is the main international airport serving Beijing. It has rapidly ascended in rankings of the world’s busiest airports in the past decade.T3 serves 70% of the total traffic volume, which is a big challenge for airport security and passenger distribution.
Being installed at the entrance area of domestic and international passenger security area, PreSec is a high-tech product series in distributing passengers of big numbers. With the help of PreSec, passengers can enter into correct area according to the indication of the gate after sliding their boarding card, electronic ticket code or ticket copy.
According to business traveler, “the airport is now becoming bigger, although I travel a lot, but sometimes I still feel confused by the adjustment of boarding gate. Since T3 is so big and people have to transport by ferry train, it would be possible that they miss the flight after going to wrong direction.”
Since the airport adopted passenger distribution method, passengers are separated into T3C, T3D and T3E, which helps improve the efficiency. The method also helps make passenger flow counting, which decreases labor cost and ensures the smooth operation of the airport.
PreSec is a two-way entrance control operated by electrics. In closed mode, the gate remains closed. Once unauthorized or tailgating person enter from the opposite direction, alarm will be triggered. Specification for the disabled is also available. Fault protection can automatically open the gate when power down. The average passing rate is 40 times per minute depending on sliding method.
