The CAP1400 PWR nuclear power unit is based on the digestion, absorption and comprehensive mastery of the third generation AP1000 passive technology imported from China, the passive large-scale PWR nuclear power plant with independent intellectual property rights and higher power has been developed through innovation.As the largest passive PWR nuclear power plant in the world, its safety, economy and environmental compatibility will reach the world advanced level of the third generation nuclear power. Its successful development marks the successful control of the key techniques of steam turbine generators in the conventional island of large nuclear power plants by China's power generation equipment enterprises, and helps our country break through the long-term restriction of the bottleneck of core techniques, the design and manufacturing capabilities and skill levels of key equipment for nuclear power steam turbine generators have been comprehensively enhanced, and the capacity for independent innovation and sustainable development has been continuously strengthened.
At present, China's demonstration power station is located in Shidao Bay, Rongcheng, Weihai City, Shandong Province.It is planned to build two CAP1400 PWR nuclear power units with a design life of 60 years and a single capacity of 1.4 million kilowatts. The CAP1400 concept design passed the national review at the end of 2010; the preliminary design was completed in 2011 and passed an expert review organized by the National Energy Administration in January 2014.
In July 2020, our company won the bidding for CAP1400 Rongcheng nuclear demonstration project.
